Coastal walk from Cap-Coz to Beg-Meil (GR34)
The walk from Cap-Coz to Beg-Meil is one of the most accessible and popular coastal hikes in southern Finistère. Detailed route
Starting point: Cap-Coz beach
The walk begins at Cap-Coz beach, a wide and sheltered stretch of sand. After a few minutes on the beach or the promenade, the GR34 trail climbs gently and follows the coast. The waymarking is clear from the start, so you can set off with confidence.
Coastal path & viewpoints
The coastal path alternates between shaded stretches and open sections with sea views. The ground is firm, mostly compacted earth with occasional sandy patches.
Viewpoints follow one after another along the way: secluded coves, rocks smoothed by the tides, small rocky headlands and unobstructed ocean panoramas. The scenery feels completely different at high tide and low tide.
Arriving at the Pointe de Beg-Meil
Reaching the Pointe de Beg-Meil is one of the highlights of the walk. The panorama opens up, giving you a sweeping view of the coast and the nearby islets. It is the perfect spot for a rest or simply to soak in the scenery before heading back.
Can you walk back or do a loop?
You have several options:
- Head back the same way and enjoy the landscape in a different light.
