A family beach facing the Glénan Islands
Don Beach is a 500-metre stretch of fine sand on the route de la Corniche between Trégunc and Névez, facing the Glénan Islands. Its gentle slope, calm shallow waters and moderate crowds make it the perfect family beach in the area. No beach bars or sun loungers here, just sand, waves and remarkably clear water with almost tropical hues. 35 minutes from Fouesnant.

Free parking and quick access
Don Beach is directly accessible from the route de la Corniche (D1), between Trégunc and Névez. A free car park is located less than 100 metres from the beach, on the other side of the road. Public toilets are available near the car park.
By car
From Trégunc, take the D1 towards Névez/Pont-Aven. The beach is signposted on the left after about 3 km. From Concarneau: 15 minutes via the coastal road. From Fouesnant: 35 minutes via the D783 then the D1. In summer, the car park rarely fills up thanks to moderate visitor numbers.
By public transport
BreizhGo bus line 45 (Quimper, Concarneau, Trégunc) serves Trégunc town centre. From the bus stop, Don is 4 km along the route de la Corniche, easily reached by bike on a quiet, scenic road. Timetables at breizhgo.bzh.
Visiting with your dog
Dogs are not allowed on Don Beach from 1 June to 30 September (Trégunc local by-law). Outside this period, they are welcome on or off the lead. Fine for non-compliance in summer: €38.
Summer alternative: the GR34 coastal path running above the beach is open to dogs on a lead all year round. You can also follow the inland country lanes behind the coast.
Family swimming
Don Beach faces south-west, open to the sea with good sunshine throughout the day. Sea temperature reaches 18 to 20 °C in July and August. The gentle slope and calm waters make it the perfect family bathing spot. The first few metres are very shallow, allowing young children to paddle safely.
Don Beach is not lifeguard-patrolled in summer. There is no first-aid post on site. Keep a close eye on children, especially on a rising tide when currents can be stronger. Bathing water is monitored by the ARS with regular samples from June to September. The quality rating has consistently been "Excellent". The beach is accessible for people with reduced mobility (adapted parking, flat access).
The Trégunc coastline is not affected by the green algae that plagues some bays in northern Finistère. Small deposits of kelp (brown seaweed) may occasionally appear after storms, but they are quickly washed away by the tide.
At low tide, the beach expands considerably, revealing wet sand areas where children love to dig and play. The rocky foreshore at either end holds natural pools perfect for shellfish gathering (winkles, shrimps, small crabs). Check tide times on maree.info.
The route de la Corniche, a scenic drive in its own right
Don Beach sits on the route de la Corniche (D1), one of the most beautiful coastal roads in southern Finistère. This winding road hugs the coastline between Trégunc and Névez, offering spectacular views of coves, granite rocks and the sea. By bike or by car, it is well worth the trip in itself. Several small coves and hiking trails branch off to join the GR34.
